Dr. Michael uses data from millions of young people surveyed in the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth—one of the biggest info gathering studies ever—to explore how the science of scarcity and choice (often used for big business and government) can help guide more-personal decisions about schooling, career, partners, health and parenting. Michael is the founding dean and professor emeritus at the Harris School of Public Policy Studies and a senior fellow at the National Opinion Research Center, both at the University of Chicago.
