Whichever way you think, car manufacturers are heading in this direction, and the most well-known tech giants want a piece of the action too. But who would you rather trust to make your driverless car? A tech company or your favourite car manufacturer? Internet giant Yahoo has revealed more than one billion user accounts may be affected by a hacking attack. This marks the biggest cyber hack to date, with the attack dating back to 2013. It’s separate from a data loss in 2014 when 500 million accounts were accessed. The news comes at a critical juncture for Yahoo, who is trying to sell its core businesses to the telecoms and media company Verizon. Matt Cox spoke to Peter Church, Counsel specialising in data privacy at law firm Linklaters, to find out the consequences.

Is the UK ready for 5G networks?

A new report by the National Infrastructure Commission claimed that the rollout of 4G networks wasn't sufficient, with the UK only ranking 54th in terms of network coverage putting us behind Peru, Colombia, and Romania, among others. Applications from foreign workers who want to work in the UK tech industry have increased tenfold over the last year. It's after the government decided to relax the rules, allowing groups of coders to apply as a group rather than run the risk of being rejected individually. Tech City UK, the organisation that processes the visa applications, says applications had spiked since the Brexit referendum.
