The US Presidential election is just two weeks away and the most recent polls suggest a Hillary Clinton presidency may remain the most likely outcome. Many believe that the FBI reopening the investigation into Clinton's prior use of a private email server has irrevocably damaged her credibility to the point where a Clinton presidency would be seen as illegitimate. But it has also emerged that, in revealing the new investigation, the FBI Director James Comey may have broken the law - a US act which forbids officials from influencing an election. Earlier this week, the historic CETA EU-Canada trade deal was being scuppered by the opposition of Belgium, and the objections of one of its provinces, Wallonia. As a result, Thursday's signing ceremony was cancelled. Yet, Belgian political leaders have now reached a consensus in support of CETA. Oil rose to its highest level in a year after Russian president Vladimir Putin said that he backed efforts for a production cap in the clearest sign yet that the country would join any global supply pact.
