Original Broadcast: Thought for the Week
Publication of the Austin Report by HM Treasury should herald a new era for a vibrant UK stock market and much greater profile for personal investors. However there needs to be significant improvements for the latter, including strengthened rights to share owner communication and voting for those whose holdings are in nominees, normalising the threshold levels for partaking in circularisations and resolutions, and the ability for personal investors to take part in the 'rump' sell-off of nil-paid rights so that personal investors as a genre are not diluted. It's a time for change .. Background Music: Hopeful Freedom by Asher Fulero

Based on the 1937 book of the same name by Napoleon Hill, this episode takes the principles from that book — which was commissioned by Andrew Carnegie and drew on the experiences of the most financially successful people of that time — and transports them into the modern day. The absence of financial security can create misery: wealth can help people get through tough times. So this episode would be helpful for anyone looking for more financial security, and it's a preview of Adam Cox's 'Hypnotic Wealth' series.

James Cameron-Wilson looks at the UK box office, resilient in the better weather but only because of the arrival of Thor: Love and Thunder, taking £12.3m in the #1 spot. James found it the most expensive romcom of all time (costing $250m), often pantomimic and, in the end, atrocious. His faith in cinema was restored by catching up with the 2018 chilling black comedy Donbass from Ukraine, which is even more fascinating given the current conflict. It's available to buy and rent online.
